DEIB Development Goals
- Work on developing a wholistic approach to Accessibility and Inclusion.
- Focus on being comprehensive, considering far more than just a persons identity, but also their potential limitations, beliefs, culture and way of life.
- Engage in discussion with Populace Support representatives and help come up with cost affective yet impactful ways to accommodate our aging populace.
- Coordinate with site stewards on how a site can be better utilized by the majority by discussing layouts, foot paths, inclines, terrain and facilities, amongst other things and help design safe and accessible events for all.
- Identify possible hazards that may be present for events, including but not limited to inclement weather, site location within a community, environmental hazards like extreme temperatures or extreme dry conditions.
- Included in this section, ensuring evacuation routes are identified and working with groups to create an emergency response team to assist in safe evacuations and populace notification of events.
- Help local groups create an inclusive environment along side the Hospitaler and Seneschal.
- Engage in Accessibility and Inclusion group discussions that will be open to the general populace and potential future DEIB candidates to obtain ideas and alternate perspectives.
- This will help better develop ideas on how DEIB can better support the populace and further develop an inclusive environment.
- To create an environment that is even more welcoming, allowing all to feel like they truly belong.
- Encouraging a rich and diverse community of friends and family, allowing all to feel safe within our group and be free to be themselves.
- Provide DEIB focused classes/discussion groups at events to go over possible issues or challenges that have come up and consider how to address each item.
